If Tiger Stadium was a few blocks east, closer to downtown, then maybe. But it's not, and there is nothing to draw investers to.

Bottom line is that Tiger Stadium is being torn down because it's in a bad area that can't support commerice to keep it intact in any way. If Tiger Stadium were in most other cities, it would have already been torn down. I'll miss the ol' girl, but better she go than rot away.zekejenningshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09106172372729570521noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4331717739216980663.post-58496789903433583872008-07-24T08:15:00.000-07:002008-07-24T08:15:00.000-07:00The thing I hate most about new stadiums is how th...The thing I hate most about new stadiums is how they always have advertisements for names. I too have some good memories from there, but Comerica is a much better stadium for the majority of fans.

In my opinion, the only classic stadiums worth preserving are Wrigley Field and Fenway. Both are beautiful, and could not be topped by a new design. As for Dodger Stadium, it was built in the 60's and features those fantastic upper decks - I think there are 3, or maybe even 4.

Still, kind of sad to see Tiger Stadium go down. I'd like to see them preserve the field and a portion of the lower deck to use as a youth baseball complex. Let's hope that gets approved.bkhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16536354485608293704noreply@blogger.com
